
Franco Fontana was born in Modena on December 9th, 1933 and it is in Modena that he continues to live and work. He is an artist of world renown who has held one-man exhibitions and participated in collective showings in the most frequented locations of the art world.
His works are to be found in museums in Amsterdam, Hamburg, Helsinki, Jerusalem, New York, Melbourne, Milan, Paris, Beijing, San Paolo and Toronto.
He also collaborates in advertising for cars, industry, publications and companies that are all a well-known part of our daily lives, such as, for example: Alitalia, Canon, Kodak, Ferrari, Ferrovie dello Stato (Italian state Railway), Levi's, Mondadori, La Repubblica, Panorama Mese, La Rinascente, Photo, Piaggio, Sip, Versace and Vogue America.
As art critic Achille Bonito Oliva said of Fontana: "He is able to calibrate his physiological eye in tune with that of the camera".
Fontana has dedicated his life to art photography and the art of photography has become his life.
